CYWP - Cornwall Youth Work Partnership

The first meeting of the new look Children’s Trust will be held on Monday, 18^th July 2011 2.00pm – 4.30pm. This session is for all staff working with children, young people and their families. The purpose of the event is to understand the impact of national and local policy development in relation to children and young people and their families. The Partnership Strategic Assessment evidence base 2010/11 is now published on the Amethyst website. This assessment covers the 18 month period from 1 April 2009 to 30 September 2010. It provides a profile of crime, disorder and problem substance use in Cornwall, highlighting geographical ‘hotspots’ for different types of crime and associated risk factors, and reviewing the impact of activities in the last 18 months.

Local Transport Plan: Connecting Cornwall 2030 Evidence base

The document presents the comprehensive evidence base which has informed the development of the Connecting Cornwall: 2030 Strategy and the first Implementation Plan.

Cornwall Common Core Programme

The Cornwall Common Core Programme covers the key elements of the ‘Common Core of Skills and Knowledge’ as set out in ‘Every Child Matters: Change for Children’ (2004). This programme supports your personal and professional development if you are currently working with, or considering a career in working with children, young people or families.

Munro Review of Child Protection

The Final Report of the Munro Review of Child Protection, A child-centred system was published on Tuesday, 10^th May 2011. Professor Munro’s analysis finds that local areas should have more freedom to design their own child protection services and that ‘one-size-fits-all approach’ to child protection is preventing local areas from focusing on the needs of the child.
